Ar. Sastry Somayajula
Ar. Sastry Somayajula is the Director and Consulting Architect of TRIO-S Architectural Consultants, with over 28 years of experience in architecture, master planning, area development and interior design.
Since joining TRIO-S in 1998, he has led and contributed to projects across tourism, retail, hospitality, residential,
commercial, corporate, institutional and industrial sectors. His experience encompasses the entire architectural process—from conceptualisation and master planning to design development, statutory approvals and project implementation.
With nearly two decades of specialised experience in retail design, Sastry has worked with some of India’s leading retail organisations and brands, developing design strategies and formats that respond to the distinctive dynamics of the Indian market. His portfolio also includes major tourism and publicsector assignments, corporate workplaces, distribution centres, IT facilities, educational institutions, religious buildings and large-scale developments.
Beyond practice, he has played an active role in the architectural profession, including serving as Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Centre of the Indian Institute of Architects, participating in professional forums and conventions, and teaching as Guest Faculty at Andhra University and GITAM.
His approach to architecture is grounded in context, functionality and practical execution—bringing together design
thinking, technical understanding and real-world project requirements to create spaces that are purposeful, responsive and enduring.
